UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has extended his greeting to people in the UAE and the World over celebrating Nowruz.
Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed said, “To all those celebrating Nowruz, both in the UAE and around the world, I extend my best wishes to you and your families and hope that the year ahead brings you continued peace and prosperity.”
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Tuesday, congratulated the nations that celebrate the Nowruz festival via his twitter account, wishing them a happy new year.
“Congratulations to all peoples celebrating the Nowruz festival, wishing them a happy new year, with a spring filled with peace and goodness and days blessed with stability and prosperity,” His Highness said.
Nowruz is the Iranian or Persian New Year celebrated by various ethnicities worldwide. It is a festival based on the Iranian Solar Hijri calendar, on the spring equinox—on or around 21 March on the Gregorian calendar.
The holiday tradition known as the Festival of Fire, is linked to the Zoroastrian religion.
