Dubai, UAE, 25 November 2025: Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) is inviting community members to explore a diverse journey of art and learning through the Impact Track and clubs of its School of Life initiative. Part of Dubai’s Quality of Life Strategy, the programme helps participants build new cultural and practical life skills.

The December 2025 programme will offer 26 sessions and workshops across Dubai Public Libraries, providing the public with opportunities to engage with Emirati heritage and local traditions, while developing skills in areas such as music, languages, calligraphy, and more. By presenting learning in an engaging, accessible format, the initiative reinforces the libraries’ role as active community hubs and reflects Dubai Culture’s commitment to keeping culture within everyone’s reach.

At Al Mankhool Public Library, ‘Story-Writing: Their Past, Our Future’ with Sahab Collective, introduces the fundamentals of contemporary short fiction with an emphasis on perspective and cultural resonance. The library will also host two sessions under the Calligraphy Club by Gino Banola. The <a href="https://uaeinsider.net/2025/11/25/e-completes-the-worlds-first-ipdwdm-800ge-solution-trial/”>first, ‘Baybayin x Arabic Calligraphy,’ explores the beauty of the two ancient scripts and their cultural significance, while the second, ‘Baybayin Calligraphy on Pottery,’ invites participants to paint the Filipino script on pottery pieces, incorporating elements inspired by Emirati heritage.

Under the Health & Nutrition Club, Hatta Public Library will welcome Mummy Yummy for a ‘Fruit Art’ class, where attendees will learn to turn simple fruit plates into arrangements that draw from UAE landmarks. At Al Rashidiya Public Library, the ‘Mini Sandwich Preparation’ workshop introduces playful, patriotic snack designs inspired by symbols such as the palm tree and falcon.

The Language Club at Al Twar Public Library will host two sessions with Arabically. The first ‘Arabic in Nature: Our unity is Our Identity’ reflects the UAE’s story of cooperation and resilience, using interactive activities to teach children how to approach tasks with care and excellence. ‘Arabic in Nature: The Value of Hard Work’ will have students create models of notable landmarks.

In collaboration with Tashkeel, Al Safa Art & Design Library will organise ‘Clay Hand building’, offering hands-on introduction to shaping clay pieces inspired by Emirati architecture. Al Safa Art & Design Library will also host ‘Creative Impact Track: Ruq’ah Calligraphy,’ a three-part series with calligrapher Mohammad Hussain Altamimi, focused on connecting letters, forming words, and writing complete sentences using the Ruq’ah script.

Al Rashidiya Public Library will additionally hold ‘Thuluth Calligraphy Basics’ with calligrapher Mohsen Naser from the School of Calligraphy and Ornamentation in Fujairah, where visitors will be introduced to the foundations of this classical style. In the same vein, Lara Shevaun Doherty from the same institution will lead the workshop ‘Art from Emirati Landscape’, using watercolours to explore personal expression, while reflecting on the symbolism of dates in Emirati culture.

Within the Art Club, Al Safa Art & Design Library will host ‘Painting on Woven Palm’ with Abeer Al Edani, who will guide attendees in decorating woven-palm baskets with natural materials. Medaf Creative Studio will be running three workshops: ‘Camel Plush Workshop’ focused on designing a camel-shaped plush toy; ‘Painting on Concrete’ to create a vibrant artwork of the UAE’s national bird on a concrete slab; and ‘Paint your Mini Barjeel,’ enabling participants to decorate their own 3D traditional houses using paint and stickers.

The ‘Choral in Arabic: Nation’s Heritage’ workshops will be led by ‘Cordon’ and organised in Al Safa Art & Design Library under the Music and Performing Arts Club. Designed to build confidence, broaden musical knowledge, and enhance vocal expression, the sessions immerse children in songs from both Arab and local cultural repertoires, creating a lively and encouraging atmosphere.
