Due to popular demand, Dubai Restaurant Week has been extended until 31 May, giving residents and visitors more time to experience and explore more than 50 homegrown concepts shaping the city’s dynamic and evolving dining scene. Organised by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), part of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), the event features more than 100 restaurants, marking its highest number of participating venues to date.

While Dubai is home to globally recognised dining brands, it is also a city that nurtures homegrown concepts that build strong community followings. From supper-club beginnings to Emirati fine dining and locally grown brands that have expanded internationally, Dubai Restaurant Week highlights the depth and ambition of the city’s culinary ecosystem.

Here are some of the homegrown restaurants taking part in Dubai Restaurant Week:

    Gerbou

Gerbou, meaning ‘welcome to my humble abode’ in Arabic, offers a fresh take on Emirati cuisine, inviting diners to explore the rich local culture and hospitality through its fusion dishes.

Nestled in the tranquil Nad Al Sheba neighbourhood, Gerbou warmly celebrates local flavours and craftsmanship, beautifully reflected in its inviting interior. Its interior draws inspiration from traditional crafts and local history, incorporating unique, sustainable materials like ghaf trees, discarded fish scales, and bronze ceilings, while the warm hues of amber, emerald, and teal add to its welcoming charm.

During Dubai Restaurant Week, guests can sample some of its most-loved dishes, including Meat Arayes and the sweet-and-savoury Date Salad for starters, classic Mix Grill or Prawn Biryani for the main course, and finish with Sago Pudding, featuring a vanilla cake topped with warm sago and vanilla cream.

Gerbou is open for lunch and dinner during Dubai Restaurant Week

Girl & The Goose – Restaurante Centroamericano by Gabriela Chamorro

What began as Gabriela’s humble supper club in 2019, Girl & The Goose, has grown into a family-style restaurant on the first floor of Anantara Downtown and remains a well-loved concept. Here, diners are taken on a journey through the vibrant flavours of Mesoamerican cuisine, with dishes reimagined and inspired by her travels as a former cabin crew member, bringing a modern perspective to a cuisine rarely seen on the city’s culinary map.

From 1 to 31 May, diners will have the opportunity to explore some of Girl & The Goose’s dishes, such as Guatemalan Lychee Seabass Ceviche, and Gabriela’s signature plates like Gigi’s Steak & Frites and Gigi’s Guacamole, a special guacamole served with ponzu cream, shiso leaves, and crispy plantain.

    CQ French Brasserie

Bringing the Parisian brasserie charm to Dubai Restaurant Week, CQ French Brasserie invites residents and visitors to its unpretentious, brilliantly prepared French dining.

From classic Escargots De CQ to juicy Baguette Steak Café De Paris and indulgent Duck Confit Framboise, every dish is crafted with passion and reflects its commitment to honouring French traditions while delivering a fresh and distinctive experience to every table.

A homegrown concept by Sunset Hospitality Group, HANU offers a new wave of contemporary Korean cuisine, bringing an elevated experience that unites heritage with modernism, delivering vibrant, artfully crafted dishes that push the boundaries of tradition.

Open for dinner, diners can try HANU’s signature Meat Me at the Grill experience, featuring premium, exceptional cuts of meat. Meanwhile, the Kimchi Arancini offers a fresh take on Korean fusion, bringing Italy and Korea to guests’ tables, and they can finish off with Mango Coconut Bingsu.

REIF Kushiyaki Dar Wasl & Dubai Hills

The unconventional Japanese restaurant, brought by one of the UAE’s few self-funded chef-restaurateurs, Chef Reif Othman, is on the heavyweight lineup this year. Offering lunch and dinner at both of its locations – Dar Wasl and Dubai Hills – diners are promised an experience through its dishes that takes them on a journey through Singaporean Chef Reif’s Japanese cooking, combined with Italian and French culinary fundamentals.

Some of the standout dishes from the Dubai Restaurant Week menu are the Italian-inspired Miso Burrata with Yuzu Miso, the soulful Angus Beef Claypot, and Matcha Tiramisu.
